Has anyone used this phone?  Any opinion on Samsung phones?  I like this one -- except that it doesn't have a camera -- and when I have to give up my work-issued phone, I'm probably going to go with this one barring any horrible customer reviews.

i've never used anything outside the motorola brand.

I've had a few, but only Motorolas recently.  My v400 crapped out after a year of use... figures... just in time to buy a new one and extend the contract.  Right now I have a Nextel/Motorola i530, which is the most boring phone on the planet.

Same here.  Been using Motorola for 11 years.

I had a Samsung phone...it worked great when it worked, but five months after I bought it, it wouldn't charge.  I tried the car charger, a new battery, and the bloody thing crapped out.  Their customer service was shitty.  So was Sprint's customer service.

The phone I had.

I didn't have that phone, but make sure you have insurance on it and be sure you understand the warranty.

I did have to buy a new phone (Sanyo), but R.aspI got a $200 credit on my phone bill, so it is all good.

My new phone...I got it in Expresso.

Good to know (the charging thing).  Thanks.

i'm not a fan of their software, as far as the user interface.  but that's rarely something the average consumer uses to judge a phone.

also: the more hinges, the more chance to break.  the wires running up to that LCD are flimsy and quick to fail. throw in repeated friction from flipping those two hinges around for 6 months or so, bake at 375 until golden brown

I do, a little, but usually there aren't actual working phones available to play with.  The SGH-D307 has a negative mark from one of the review services saying that the user interface is clunky and the keyboard doesn't work with the phonebook, but hopefully Samsung has since come out with a newer model that addresses that as well as Cn's problem with the battery.

I have a Samsung phone.  I love it.  I've never had any issues with charging or the battery or anything.  My last phone was also a Samsung.  I gave it to my husband.  He loves it.  He's never had any issues with charging or the battery or anything.  Also, I've had Sprint since they started their wireless service and have never had an issue with them or their customer service.  I love them.

This is my phone, by the way.  http://www.samsung.com/Products/MobilePhones/Sprint/SPH_A700BSSXAR.asp

I usually don't have a lot of problems with Sprint, but when I ordered a replacement phone, they lost the order and didn't bother to inform me (I gave them my email address and Jeff's number), I was told I could use the credit on my account to buy a new phone (which is impossible because you can't use an online credit for anything in store).  When I asked why they would say something like that, they said sorry about your luck.  By then, I was tired, sore and had struggled with getting a wheelchair on the Metro all by myself.

There have been other times I have had issues with customer service, but usually dealt with when I speak to management.

Every cell phone manufacturer screws up on a phone or two.

No Cell service provider is worth a shit.

It's all a crap shoot.
