I thought Surface was teh suck.  I turned it off at 8:40 and went back to watching Lost.

I didn't mind it.  I was glad it took itself more seriously than Threshold did.  Still pretty cliched.  The production values were higher than I expected.

I liked that Surface isn't scared of having a large scope to it's narrative.  I think that is a bonus about Threshold as well.  TV is traditionally limited in how grandiose they can aim for.  Newer and cheaper technology is allowing for a wider canvas.  I'm sure the newness of it will wear off quickly and everything will become lame again soon enough.
