News:

A child can go only so far in life without potty training. It is not mere coincidence that six of the last seven presidents were potty trained, not to mention nearly half of the nation's state legislators.

We got two of our original five kittens from the Humane Society. They had ear mites, but the Humane Society's cat lady (yes, she really was) told us this in advance AND snuck us a bottle of medicine from the fridge. All we had to buy was a box of q-tips and a bottle of mineral oil.

My cats -- the four of my original five (one died of FIP) -- are now 5. They are all rescue pets (2 from the Humane Society, 3 foundlings that our friend nursed from birth and foisted off on us). When they pass, I'll get dogs, and they'll definitely be rescue pets.
Very cool.

I didn't know cats could drink human breast milk. That's interesting.
OMG, too creepy...

I think Jessie knew EXACTLY what I meant.

Right.  She nursed the kittens.

Gosh, kitten and puppies have teeth like needles.  That's real dedication.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

We just got Scooter back from the vet today.  He's on medication for the next 10 days to help get the parasites out of his system, but they expect him to make a full recovery.  He has to stay in his cage most of the time since the parasites in his feces are contagious to the kids and the other dog, but that's ok.  He can come out to play for a few minutes and to go outside to potty, but that's about it.  At least he's eating and drinking a little now.

The bill was pretty decent, too.  Three days of hospitalization and constant treatment only came to $78.  The vet waived the hospitalization fees since he wasn't thorough enough on the first exam to catch the parasites.  That was mighty decent of him I think.

Good thing you waited to eat him.

No kidding.  He lost half a pound, and he was pretty skinny to begin with.

You would think that clicking on the button labeled "shop" would take you to the store.  But it doesn't.

I love a good pair of sweater puppies.  Even more so when there's no sweater obstructing the view.

yay!  I'd have been sad if it had been worse.
"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

My wife is not happy because his medicine makes him poop a lot.

But it's a small price to pay for a really cute and healthy pup.

Or your favorite pair of Liz Claiborne sandals. (boss's dog AND no I wouldn't let him reimburse me for them even though he was insistent.)
