have you guys seen Google Earth?  Perhaps i've been under a rock but Im shitting my pants over how cool it is.

i would gladly give up my privacy for a llive update sattelite of any overland place in the world.

but thsi wil have to do for now.

sadly Iceland is not a high resolution area or else i would show you the hot chick parts

Gamplayerx

No, I haven't.  Is this different than the satellite images available from the Google Maps interface?

Dry then Catch

yes supposedly some overlaps, but as google earth is constantly updating some is newer and higher res depending on where you are.

its the interface that is amazing.

its basically a 3-d globe in which you have a "flying effect" of zooming in and zooming out.

Gamplayerx

OMG!  I downloaded it.  That is TOO cool!!!!

ignom

I tried to download it before.

QuoteApple Macintosh computers are not supported at this time (but we are working on it).

Asses.
Underneath this flabby exterior is an enormous lack of character.

Dry then Catch

supposedly Microsoft is coming out with a newer version that allows angles and even more updated and higher res photos.

Dry then Catch

Dry then Catch

Gamplayerx

I'm not staying anywhere in Cambridge, MA - but it has photos to 6" resolution.  Amazing!

kinda the same thing, but instead of earth, it's the universe.

Jessie

This may be the coolest thing I've ever seen.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

Bishamonten

Nesh and I played with Google Earth when it was released.  We had a ton of fun book marking all the places we had stayed in Japan and the sites we'd seen.  See if you can track down Meji Shrine and Shinjuku Tower.  They look awesome.

earth.google.com

I was amazed by all the things it could do.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

Beefy

So.  Freakin'.  Cool.

ignom

You can all go to hell. I'm making my own earth. Here's where I live.

Underneath this flabby exterior is an enormous lack of character.

Gamplayerx

ignom, cool - now zoom fly over to my house.

Dry then Catch

oh man playboy mansion doesn't seem to be on there

ursus

Just like the CIC application "earth" used by the good guy in Neal Stephenson's "Snow Crash".

Cool stuff... :gamp:
I was just wondering...

Grumpus came in third by just one vote on a Fark PS contest using a google earth idea.
