Tonight's viewing:

It's largely considered to be the worst film of this year.  Of course, Gigli wasn't as bad as everyone said, so there's always that.

Wes Craven has always seemed to me to not understand the horror genre very well, and when he has had hits it was almost in spite of himself.  He's had some good/great horror films: A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Hills Have Eyes, The Serpent and the Rainbow, and Scream to name a few.  His work has even been influential.  And yet, like many other horror directors, he turns around makes another movie so wrongheaded you can't help but want to slap the man.

Cursed, if you didn't know, was so bad initially that a majority of the film was rewritten and reshot, delaying the release considerably and costing tons of money.  The retooled version is considered plain awful, so how bad was the original?!

Well, at least it is 'uncut' on DVD, meaning they probably flash a little extra boob.  Always a good thing.

You gotta take what you can get.

It wasn't awful, just mediocre.  No boob.  Predictable outcome.

Why wasn't Prozac Nation released to theaters?

I used to like Christina Ricci.  Then I watched Pumpkin.  It's going to be at least a year before I can see a movie with her in it again.

I think Prozac Nation was rendered unreleaseable. I think I read it was going to premiere on Starz.
Underneath this flabby exterior is an enormous lack of character.

Beefy

Prozac Nation gets dumped to DVD next week.

Gamplayerx

I tried to watch Prozac Nation - but it was excruitiatingly bad.
