I was just reminiscing in chat about The Red Balloon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Red_Balloon) and how they showed the movie in school when I was little every year at the school assembly.  eo & FOB it seems did not have that pleasure.  Did you?

Granted, I'm ancient - but the movie was really old even when I was little.  Of course, I went to a really small school, so perhaps that was it.

They also showed "Hardware Wars".

Alice

I've never seen it.

They used to make us watch the Appledumpling Gang a lot, though.

Bennyhana

I've seen the Red balloon, but I think it was in French class in High School.

The Red Balloon is currently available on comcast ondemand.

Man, I love imdb.  Looking up Hardware Wars, I found that one of the guys did Thank You Mask Man (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0121802/) which is so very funny.

AWESOME!!!  Thank You Mask Man  NOTE:  some language is NSFW

Oh.  Thanks.  I never liked The Red Balloon.  Also, we didn't have enough seats in our auditorium for a full school assembly, so we had to sit on the floor.  I'm getting a flashback of 30 uncomfortable minutes sitting crosslegged on a cold, hard, linoleum floor.  Of course at the time, we were allowed to call it sitting Indian style.  Still made your ankle bones get all flat and red, no matter what you called it.

But I loved Hardware Wars.  Which I also just found on YouTube.  :D

My niece calls sitting crosslegged "Criss cross applesauce."

Because apparently just saying "crosslegged" sounded way too intelligent for children, now that they're not allowed to be racially insensitive.

Jessie

we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

Then you might want to steer clear of Mask Man.

One of my all-time favorites as a kid.  Along with The Private Eyes.

I think I remember watching The Red Balloon quite a bit in elementary school.  Of course back then it was on a 16mm movie format.  Hardware wars wasn't out in a format that you watch until I was way out of elementary school, so I don't think that you are the most senior member here Gamp...
