Grits = cream of wheat but made of corn instead, right?

MMM.  Cream of Wheat.
"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

BigDun

I used to like Cream of Wheat with some butter, milk and honey.

Cream of wheat is something that I can't just get into.  I think the concept of the two is the same, soaking some form of ground grain in boiled water (or in milk as many cream of wheat aficionados prefer).  My mom made it the consistency of oatmeal when I was a kid, and I always equate it with glue.
11:42:24 [Gamplayerx] I keep getting knocked up.
11:42:28 [Gamplayerx] Er. OUT!

BigDun

Adding the milk and butter is what made it acceptable when I was a kid. The final form should be like a thickened soup.

Grits are gross. So is Deep Impact.
16:15:43 [Gamplayerx] Juneau, I could really go for some pie. You better Belize it!

The first time I had grits, I thought "Mmmm... it looks similar to a cheese soufflé. Light and fluffy egg goodness with the wonderful, sharp cheddar flavor."

One bite of grits and I changed my mind to "Ewwww! It tastes like chalky, coarsely ground Cream of Wheat with a 1/10 slice of American cheese thrown in."

What crazy person puts american cheese in grits?  Cheddar forevar!

Garlic Cheese Grits are great.

We have been talking about a lot of different business opportunities.  If you look on their website, there are no WHs past a point.  None on the west coast, none in Idaho.

I have got to think that there is a demand, especially with people traveling/driving along the interstate.

We are looking into a Tennis Center, a franchise called Pump it Up (a indoor kids play center), and others.

BigDun

If I were seriously looking at franchising a fast food business, I would consider Sonic (if the region didn't already have one), Firehouse Subs, or a WaWa Convenience Store (I don't actually think that WaWa franchises, but if they did, the concept is an almost guaranteed winner).

I wish that the Swedish firm IKEA franchised. I know of a dozen markets where an IKEA would have pickup trucks and SUVs lined around the block to pick up purchases.

Sonic is coming here this summer.  That is a $1.5mm up front, or something crazy like that.  In-n-Out would be the killer one to open.

Potbelly Sandwich Company is another.

I know people that work for IKEA, and swear they will never leave.

DownSouth

I bet you would make a fortune with Soniic or Firehouse.

Potbelly has a great market focus. I would put them high up on the list as a potential route.

In n Out doesn't franchise.  It's all family owned.

I checked.

My wife and I are considering relocating and Idaho has been mentioned. Are there any high tech or Fortune 500 opportunities in your area?

I want to move somewhere new, I think, maybe.

If I could find a job that would make regular trips home possible, I'd be outta here.  Maybe.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

BigDun

We have moved beyond the "it's possible to drive" distance from our respective families. So our next move is nothing more than a possibly more expensive plane ticket for us or our loved ones to see each other.

Seattle is booming, but housing is expensive.

The CDA/Spokane area is growing fast, and housing is still affordable if you stay away from the lakes.  I am renting a new 2500sf house for $1200 a month.

There aren't the Fortune 500 companies, but there are a number of INC 500 (private) companies here.  We were 43 this year, but now we are public.

Go west young man.

West sounds good to me.  Particularly northwest.

You want to make a fortune.  Open a Chick Fil A.  You'll pay of your morgage fees and franchise fees in the first week of every month.

Plus you don't have to work on Sundays. Of course you have to attend the Jesus Loves Cows church, but hey, it's a small price to pay for some good chicken.
