I had to reboot my stupid machine because it locked up.

It locks up  A LOT.

So I restarted and lo and behold, my bookmarks are gone and I have no search capability in the upper right hand corner.  I mean, it's there, but there are no search engines any more.  When I go to add at least Google, it isn't one of the choices.

WTF?
"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

dazie

gah.  I loaded stupid Mozilla 2.0 and I don't like how it looks.  But it works, even though my bookmarks are gone.

I suppose there wasn't much important in there anyway.

OK- this sucks.  Every time I open the damn browser I have to reset the toolbars.  I think something is FUBAR.

try opening up the shell of the cpu, rub your feet really fast on some carpetting, and shock the hell out of it!
that should wake it up.   ;D
Some people look at jerky and say, "Why?"  I look at jerky and say, "Mmm! Jerky!"

I've been fighting the same thing for months.  I don't know what to tell you.

That happened to me and I was able to recover everything. You need to take some stuff from your profile and then delete your profile. Or something. With profiles.

Gamplayerx

Sounds spywareish to me.

You should search for your bookmark file.  In Firefox, it's called "Bookmarks.html"  and it's usually stored in C:\Documents and Settings\your username or owner or something\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\some funky-named folder.
