Privoxy and Tor

I just installed Privoxy and Tor.  Anyone have any experience or thoughts on these?  There is definitely some slowdown, though I tweaked Firefox as suggested to help improve speed.

Well, if Tor's supposed to be creating a proxy IP for you, it's not doing a very good job of it...

I may have had it turned off by that point.  The slowdown was frustrating.

I'm looking into using just Privoxy without Tor.
