Before my purple-arm-adventure, we went to see I am Legend.

I liked it, it was good.

I haven't read the book, but now I will, even though I've been told the movie is a very loose adaptation.

I would have liked it more except that we were in a very crowded theater, and the woman sitting in front of us was overly emotive.  She screamed "OH MY GOD" in the scary-ish parts, sobbed audibly in the sad parts, laughed hysterically in the humorous parts...it was so distracting because Timothy and I kept looking at each other and giggling instead of getting caught up in the emotion the movie was trying to portray.

I think Will Smith did a pretty good job of breaking away from his Will Smith shtick.

Also, now I really want a German Shepherd.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

We thought about going to see that but decided on Sweeney Todd because we were both pretty sure that his dog would die at some point. My wife hates movies were the dog dies (she doesn't mind that entire population of the world gets zombiefied).

I've stuck my head in a few times- not my cuppa.  I'm not big on the whole post-apocalyptic genre.
"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

I wanted to see Sweeney Todd, but I didn't want to drive all the way to Louisville to do it.

The mutants look like video game characters.  That was unfortunate.

Yeah, they weren't really great looking.  Were they actors or CGI?  I assume CGI.

Dry then Catch

I didn't like it, but it kept my attention.  I would have preferred a non-movie star in the role.  It was too WILL2K and emotionally manipulative.  Does he always need a scene where he is tenderly saying goodbye to his hot light skinned black wife and moppet child while turmoil is beginning around him?  (aww don't worry daddy gonna be back soon)

I preferred liked the "28 Later" series and Children of Men as far as recent apocalyptic or zombie movies go

Couldn't have have thrown the grenade in the fireplace?  Surely figuring out some other method was worth a try.

VikingJuice

How closely does it stick to the original?

I know that I am resurrecting an old thread, but I just saw this movie on video and I liked it.  I like the premise that in the search for the cure for cancer, we get a virus that wipes out 90% of the population and turns most of the rest into video game characters.  Do they have zombie children?  I mean do the infected reproduce?? interesting.

(I've been catching up on movies lately - you've been warned)

I liked it.  Too bad that he clearly had gone mental.  Damn that Fred.

I never responded to this one...

The movie was entertaining, but they changed the ending to one which completely changed the meaning of the movie.  I mean, it even changes the meaning of the title!  I believe the better ending was filmed and is on the DVD release.
