Title: Rye Bread & Red Cabbage Stuffing

I'm making this now to take to Thanksgiving Dinner #3

2 tbs unsalted butter
1 lb pork sausage
8 cups finely shredded red cabbage (approx. 1 cantalope sized cabbage)
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
3 tbs dark brown sugar
3/4 cup raisins
1 tbs coarse salt
1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
1 loaf (1lb) rye bread with seeds, cubed and dried

- Melt butter in large pot over medium heat.  Add sausage & saute until no longer pink.  Break up and remove sausage.
- Stir cabbage into pot.  Cover & simmer 5 minutes.
- Add sausage, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper & raisins.  Cover & simmer 5 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
- Stir in bread cubes, heat through, serve warm.

The only time it smells worse is when you fart cabbage!  That's just plain bad!

I suppose you could make it with soysage...

Sauerkraut = teh yummy!

yes i could, they do make soy sausages....   DAMNIT.. im huntry and its 10:30, almost lunch time.

Polish Sausage, sauerkraut, a little mustard, a little ketchup, some sliced tomato, some dill pickle, and some celery salt and you have the perfect meal!!

hrmmm.... sound excessive, but yeah that woudl work.   im happy with the sausage lots of sauerkraut to surround and support its flavor and a small amount of ketchup.
