I am looking for a small vacuum that is good on hardwood floors and area rugs. Any suggestions?
I would also like to have some kind of cleaning attachment that goes with it.

A dog.
At the beach house they had this nifty cordless hardwood/carpet vacuum thingie. No attachments, but it was damn cool.

No. I don't. But I don't want a Roomba. I am not that lazy.
We got a Lindhaus (http://www.lindhaususa.com/) brand with one head for carpet and one head for hardwood floors/tile. It is wonderful.

Haha she called Catchr lazy.
I bought this one from Amazon.

It has what I basically need. My house is too small for a full sized vac.
I think my vacuum was made around 1974.
ahem. Sure. Just plow right over.

it takes quite a bit of effort to push that button and pick it up. don't forget you actually have to remember to recharge that damn thing
I went to buy a vacuum at Target today and the bastiges would'nt take my check. BRAND NEW FUCKING BANK ACCOUNT. So, I'm vacuum-less in a house with a long haired black dog who's shedding.
:(
OK. Went back to Target with cash. Purchased a Dirt Devil Vision Turbo. Seems to really suck. *snort* Ahhh... I crack myself up.
$99, bagless, headlight, turbo hose attachment (there's a spinny brush in the handheld upholstery thing) Kinda noisy, but damn it works great on the dog hair.
Plus it's glittery purple. Maybe burgundy. I dunno- it sparkles.
I'd give it a 4 out of 5.
Hey OBB! While you're around, how about telling us how the stair vacuuming went.
